Campaigns for a Disarmed World

An International Disarmament Seminar held in Brasilia, Brazil, discussed best practices in premanent campaigns to collect firearms from the civilian population. Delegates from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Angola, Mozambique and Portugal discussed campaigns, presented data, and looked at the challenges ahead in lowering the numbers of weapons in the population and improving public security.

The Portuguese speaking nation, rich in Petroleum, has recently embarked on a gun collection campaign that has already collected 52 thousand weapons in nine  months. With two more years to go, Angolan authorities have ambitious plans.
